This film was voted Audience Award Winner at The London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival 1999.
It's not surprising! After a derth of decent lesbian movies this came as a breath of fresh air.
It's entertaining, amusing, interesting, and the cast is attractive! - what more could you want?
Oh yes...it's well written and nicely shot.
The film has something to say about all forms of women's and transgendered sexuality without being 'PC'. There are one or two of the usual stereotypes, but on the whole the characters are real and nicely fleshed out. You care about them. It helps that the actors really can act.
All involved give fine performances (the leads can be spotted in many other films and TV shows), but particular mention must be given to Wendy Crewson ('The 6th Day','Bicentennial Man') for her fine comic turn as Maggie's mother.
This is a lighthearted film that you can watch again and again.
