Detective Superintendent Tony Clark (Neil Pearson), returns for the second series of the gritty crime drama set within the police Complains Investigation Bureau (CIB). Increasingly unpopular with the investigators and investigated, Clark and his team must decipher truth from deceit and flush out corruption within the police. To make matters worse, MI5 are interfering in areas traditionally police territory; drugs, fraud and organised crime and the intrusion is definitely unwelcome.

The series returns for a second series. Still fine stuff - perhaps more patchy than the first series but still well worth watching - TV of this quality is pretty rare.
Between the lines has worn very well
Many of the issues explored in this series have turned out to be key policing issues over the past twenty years.
I also liked the ambiguity in the story writing so there was no pat ending such as we have to have in modern soap operas.
Very innovative television.
