A really simplistic view of aid, international development and civil war. The non-western characters are either stereotypical victims or monsters. Simple characterisation, no moral ambiguity and cliched plot developments.
The direction is really boring and you can clearly see that every scene has been shot in a studio.
This would all be acceptable, what with it being a throwaway action film and all, but the subject matter is so sensitive that everyone involved really should have tried harder.
(And what's going on with Jolie's hair?)
