Country life is for me........
By a customer from Staffordshire England , 17 Nov 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
What an envious lifestyle Hugh demonstrates. A small holding and living off the land (I wish). A wake up reminder for all of us living the 'RATRACE' and shopping at supermarkets, that food does not come prepacked. Enjoy these country recipes at there best, absorb yourself with this series and you'll wish it was you.- Was this review helpful to you?

(14)And I am following all the way...
By a customer from London , 28 Mar 2008I am a massive fan of the River Cottage series and would also recommend the first season 'Escape to River Cottage'. This second season is quite different in character as it sees Hugh embarking on a new more commercially driven project of setting up and expanding his organic farming business, so less of recipes and the excitement of new experiences of a downshifter but nonetheless still fascinating.- Was this review helpful to you?

Simply brilliant
By Andy Dovey from Birmingham, England , 27 Jun 2007Hugh is just brilliant, a breath of fresh air on the cookery side. I have watched everything from his cook on the wildside right up to Beyond River cottage and cannot get enough of them.
If you havent had the pleasure of watching Hugh and his fantastic way of life, then where have you been!!!! grab them now.- Was this review helpful to you?

worth a look (WAL)
By dave clarke from london, UK , 22 Nov 2006The third in this series of the good life for Hugh and his friends - if only i had the money to retire to the Dorset idyll - but for those like me who still have to work in the big cities, these programmes are a release from our urban reality....- Was this review helpful to you?
