Avoidable
By pghargi (6 reviews) from Reading , 02 Aug 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
No novelty in the movie. Best performance is by the child artist, so-so peformance by Big B starring as the Bhoot(friendly bhoot).
SRK,Juhi Chawla (welcome return to movies) and their son land in Goa and SRK's company has given them acco in NATH VILLA which is haunted.
SRK goes away for work(he is an engineer with the navy). The son joins school and is known for being mischievous. Some very painful scenes with Satish Shah (woeful performance). The kid starts seeing AB (Bhoot),but is not scared of him, needless to say everyone else upto now was scared of the bhoot. Friendship develops between the two (Yawn) - poor songs, bad music etc.
Eventually they all(including AB's son who had left his parents to suffer alone, in search of greener pastures to USA) conduct rituals for the soul's peace and bhoot disappears.
AVOID.........please..!!- Was this review helpful to you?

(17)A good movie for kids
By a customer , 05 Aug 2012My children liked this movie. My son (who is 7 years) thought it was a good movie, while my daughter (who is 6 years) thought it was the funnies movie in the whole wide world. I averaged out the rating to 4. They both liked Amitabh Bachchan and Bantu.- Was this review helpful to you?

Sweet + funny but too long
By MidnightsTail (37 reviews) from Oxford, England , 30 Mar 2012I'm not a regular Bollywood viewer but I think this one might be a bit of an original. It's like a Bollywood version of Canterville Ghost, with a naughty little boy making friends with the old spook.
Lots of charm, great kids' dance sequences. But far too long. I felt that somebody decided to wring out the plot for every drop of juice they could get, including tedious moralising for children.
Still it's a good, whimsical watch with sweet characters and comedy. Probably not a high budget film, which again makes it a curiosity.- Was this review helpful to you?

less is more
By a customer , 18 Sep 2011could have been better if movie shortened to one hour. Best bit was near the end when we find out why the ghost is trapped in the house. Skipped through the movie all the way through. Better than other bollywood movies because there were fewer dance scenes and less songs and less self pitying scenes that are always forelorn and miserable, thus making it good viewing. Found it possible to watch from start to end because of the ability to fast forward through boring bits otherwise the rating would have been less.- Was this review helpful to you?
