HBO's hit series BIG LOVE brings the contentious issue of polygamy to Middle America. Bill Paxton (ALIENS) stars as Bill Henrickson, a Salt Lake City Mormon who appears to have eked out an achingly mundane existence for himself. But scratch beneath the surface and you'll find a man who's anything but ordinary. Balancing three stressful lives with three very different wives--Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn), Nicki (Chloe Sevigny), and Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin)--Bill tries his best to negotiate this bizarre living arrangement and help raise his seven children (who happen to be next-door neighbours!). Luckily for Bill, his best friend and fellow polygamist Don Embry (Joel McKinnon Miller) is on hand to offer advice from his own chequered life. This release includes every episode from the show's first series.

Would love to see it

Maybe this isn't exactly a review, but this DVD came out in 2006, even on English Region 2 on April 27, 2007 and Series 2 has finished airing in the US. How come this site don't have it available yet?

This is the first series of a show that turns an interesting spotlight on Utah Fundamentalist Mormon family that practices plural marriage. Big Love stars Bill Paxton, Chloë Sevigny, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Ginnifer Goodwin and Harry Dean Stanton.

The drama was inspired by current practices of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) as well as doctrine and practices that were part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) until the practice of polygamy was abandoned in 1890.

Fantastic but why still on reserve

Can't wait to see this, watched it when it was on tv, it's really entertaining, can't wait to see it again, but why is it still on reserve?

I don’t know what it says about men that a movie about relationships is immediately described as a “chick flick”, but in this case, the cap fits.
