much better than I was expecting
To be honest, i really wasn't expecting anything from this film. It had a few bad reviews when it came out so i didn't bother with the cinema. It's Simon Pegg though for god's sake, so i couldn't just ignore it.
I've gotta say it's a much better film than I thought it'd be.
Pegg's American con-man, Gus, is a little hard to swallow at first, not because the accent is bad (it really isn't) but it's Pegg in a whole new light. After a while you forget about it and enjoy the movie. David Schwimmer is great - he doesn't overplay his character - in fact he plays a surprisingly less wired part than you might expect. He's actually quite cool - essentially, he's the hero! A loser, mind..
I may be on my own with this one but I think it's definitely worth a watch. Yes it's like Fargo but it takes itself a lot less seriously. It's very dark and at times very funny with a great soundtrack featuring Rammstein and none other than the man himself, Karl Jenkins!
Don't expect Shaun of the Dead or Spaced, don't expect anything - this is not a Simon Pegg movie, it's a movie starring Simon Pegg, there's a big difference! Just watch it and see what happens... -

Oddly good
At first glance this looks like it should be a massive hit but then it seems to drag a little. But given time this movie takes some great twists and turns and ends up a good movie - check it out.
