Goat Boy Rides tonight.By kmcca5 from East Sussex , 24 Sep 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]"Totally Bill Hicks" was his last UK performance before at 11.20pm on Saturday 26th February he died from cancer in Little Rock, Arkansas. This DVD is fantastic testament to his precise, sharp and true comedy.
The documentary is good but kind of leaves a bitter taste in the mouth of geek fans like me, as Hicks receives platitudes from David Letterman (on whos show Hicks material was censored and eventually an entire slot axed) and Jay Leno (Someone Bill grew to despise as he also was to censor Hicks) both people that Bill was hurt by in his career and life. Sadly I dont believe the documentary does him justice and is a little dull in places.
The Stand up section of this DVD is where you will find the pleasure of a comedy God firing out jokes with supreme timing and amazing rhythm. It is not for the easily offended people out there but every line every story rings with an honesty and true belief in what Hicks is saying that I defy any comedy fan of reasonable intelligence to find him not only thought provoking but utterly hilarious. It is also funny how so much of it still rings true with a different George Bush and a new gulf war. Try this and Bill will not let you down. One of the true geniuses of our time, Rest in Peace Bill.

Customer ReviewBy a customer from UK , 23 Jun 2008Bill Hicks was that rare breed, an American who understood irony. Not only that, he used it to deflate sacred cows. Unfortunately his untimely death robbed all of us of an acerbic critic of all things morally questionable. In his, and my opinion that is. This perormance filmed in London, where he was better recieved than at home in the U.S. was one of the later performances from his career. His timing is spot on, his delivery, full of stagecraft is exemplary. Yet you get the sense tha something is just not right. His audience love him, but one or two of the jokes go over their heads. This is not an american audience, so some of the material has obviously been trimmed to match them. The subjects of his anger range from the military to Vanilla Ice, pause while those under 21 Google that, all are hit spot on. Brilliant though the show is, it leaves you wanting more. Which for a comedian is the highest praise you can get. Why this only gets 4 stars though is the Channel 4 documentary at the beginning. Watch the show then watch the doc. It makes more sense that way. The only irratations are the cut in shots during the stage show and the tacked on ending. Better to have let Bill finish in his usual style onstage. You will want to watch more of Bill after this, even if you have never seen or heard him before. A fine record of one of the funniest americans ever. Well worth adding to your collection.
totally bill hicksBy simiansam (9 reviews) from Aberdeen , 23 May 2008no holds barred, full on brilliant comedy at its upmost best. the biggest shock it is still relevant today more than ever. bill hicks was clairvoyant, and will marked as one of the greats of stand up, its is a true shame that he died (of so many things that no one can decide what it was that killed him) he would the time of his life the current administration. fin
PoorBy a customer from Bolton , 07 Mar 2008I love Bill Hicks but I hate this DVD. It is full of people who wouldn't give Bill the time of day before he died suddenly talking like they were his biggest supporters. I give it two stars becuase he is a comedy God, otherwise it would be zero stars.
My advice would be to rent 'One Night Stand' and see Bill at his best. It is a shorter DVD but is miles better.........
