By a customer , 05 Jun 2011You can not go wrong with this film. it's so New York Jewish without taking it too far. I think I've seen it at least 5 times and I'm sure I'll want to see it again in the future.- Was this review helpful to you?

Walken at his best
By Remmers33 (66 reviews) from Bushey , 03 Oct 2006As soon as I started watching this it brought back memories of when I 1st saw it. A very well written film, excellent cast and cting with Christopher Walken at his best. If you haven't seen this little gem of a film, I urge you to see it. Humor and drama in a perfect mix.- Was this review helpful to you?

Attention !
By Morag Cuthbertson from Dundee , 18 Apr 2006Couldn't quite believe it's been so long since I last saw this film at the cinema in 1988.
Some great lines, splendid scenes and a superb performance from Christopher Walken.
Well worth a rental.- Was this review helpful to you?

2 parts funny, 1 part sad
By Cardiff Boy from Cardiff ! , 11 Aug 2005Don't let the one liners and high jinks fool you, this film from Neil Simon's Tony Award winning Broadway play punches harder than the jokes make you think. Matthew Broderick repeats his stage performance as Eugene from Coney Island, who wants to survive his basic training for WW2 and get laid, not necessarily in that order. Enjoy the superb humour of one of the great writers in full flight, great pictures of Biloxi, Mississippi (better than real life, which is not hard) but what Eugene really learns will stay with you long after the laughter.- Was this review helpful to you?
