Old but still a classic
By a customer from Carrickfergus , 28 Feb 2009[Highly rated reviewer]
My wife just loved it!! Though the setting is a little dated the story is timelss and thoroughly deserves the classic adjective. A must for every little girl in love with ponies and horses.- Was this review helpful to you?

(6)Not ok
By a customer , 06 Dec 2012Awful, Not true to the original story and very little about Black Beauty. The horse encounters people who dominate the screen and some of the scenes are not for children.- Was this review helpful to you?

it was really good
By Ruth Jackson from England , 13 Nov 2006I am a girl of nine years old. I thought the film was really good. It was a bit sad when he went to war in the middle of the film. I really liked the ending. I recommend it!- Was this review helpful to you?

Not great
By a customer from Farnborough, Hants , 22 Jul 2005Kids watched it but didnt really want to watch it again (unusual for them). They have seen another version since and found that better. Bit long winded and boring.- Was this review helpful to you?

On the right side of schmaltz
By a customer from Speyside , 31 Mar 2005My children and I have watched three versions of this story and this one came out tops. It eschews a voice for the horse and that made it feel more sincere. It got a bit silly in the middle and felt like the writer had got a bit desperate to make it longer, especially the circus section. Overall though we liked it.- Was this review helpful to you?
