I saw this at a horror festival and was riveted by it. This has got to be one of the most exciting and best edge of your seat debuts of any new film maker since Spielberg's Duel or the directing duo of the superb Spanish chiller Them, by David Moreau & Xavier Palud . Can't wait to see the director's David Nerlich and Andrew Traucki's next movie. Rent it now.
If you have waited many years to see a movie about 3 people being stuck up a tree, then you can now rejoice!!!
Yours,
Bored titless.
In essence, boat gets turned over and 3 people get stuck up a tree. Thats about it really!
I have not watched one decent Australian film yet.
Yeah it keeps you on the edge of your seat, not because it's scary but purely because you wanna leave your seat and hit the eject button. I gave it 40 mins before I hit the fast forward button and watched the film at 10 times the speed and felt I had missed out on nothing. Like one of the reviewers said on her, 'If you are looking for a film about 3 people getting stuck up a tree this is your movie'.
Go ahead rent, but you have been warned!
this film is not a horror but more of a comedy what a laugh watch this film to put a smile on your face.
Australian movie !!!!!what a waste of time this one..
Better watch 3 hours of NOTHING TO DECLARE ON THE TELE.
CHEERS BODY.....

Simple but effective film. Low budget, no stars and no frills but this all adds to the horror of the situation as it makes it all the more real!
Well crafted and visually stylish, it effectively gives you the creeps and makes you constantly think 'what would I do in that situation??'
Think Open Water but in the mangroves instead of the sea.
I haven't been bothered writing a review for any films i've rented, but this film is sooooo bad i just have to warn you. Do not waste 90 odd minutes of your life.....its terrible. in a boat, up a tree, alot of screaming, the end. words can't describe how boring it is. don't do it, don't rent it, and if you do rent it, keep the disc so no one else makes the same mistake!
Ok this was a true story but why make a film out of it?
It seems the Kiwis and the Aussies have caught the 'out of the blue' bug and are spitting out real story films to prop up the market.
I almost turned this off because it just went on for too long without anything happening(and yes i know it's a true story but it just dragged on and on) I felt no sympathy or connection to any of the characters throughout the film and i almost turned it off.
Don't bother with this one. Just go and watch 'Out of the Blue' as it's a much better true story and actually worth watching!
Wow, unlike Open water this film worked amazingly well with a nailbiting story that pacififies on the lines with Jaws and certainly beats aconda. All options are covered and you keep asking yourself wot would u do... then they do that and err it didnt quite work out add the facst that there suffering shock and hungry makes it more intensive. One to watch.
So as i write this 4 people liked this film and 2 hated it, i guess if you havn't spent to much time watching films or watched many then this could be O.K. but for those of us that love quality in camera work, story line and dialog then this film will be a dissapointment.
Yes it sounds good in the synopsis but this film could have been film in a few days, i half expect it to have been made by a bunch of media students and if it had i would then be impressed but it wasn't so a poor rating from me.
As othes have said most of the time is spent looking up at 3 people stuck in a tree and an over turned tiny boat.
Regards James

Well, what can I say...I only persevered because I was determined to see it through to the end, even though it was completely predictable. My husband gave up after 40 minutes and played on his PSP to while away the time.
The only good points I can say are, some of the scenes look good on a 40' HD TV, and the fact that the film ends after only an hour and a half rather than a mind numbing two hours. This is the only factor which allows me to rate it one star (it's not a long film!).
I lost the will to live and would rather chew my own arm off than watch this again.
