    [Highly rated reviewer]

Why, Why, Why did I keep watching, bad acting crap story line that dramaticaly differs from what I have read. Did it copy Pirates of the Carribean or the other way around because it seems to incorporate all three films. I have ordered a book to get an accurate retelling of the story of Edward Teach so sure as hell won't be renting this again.

    Poor!

I only rented this because I was one of the extras involved in the filming during my stay in Thailand 2005 and wanted to see the finished article. Don't know why I bothered, very tiresome watch; suppose it would have been better as a mini series over a few weeks, but probably not.

When I was on the set I thought it was low budget and the movie reflects that. Filming in Thailand is cheaper than elsewhere and no health and safety restrictions.

Standing about in costume for ages on end in 40 degrees is not what you would call glamorous either.

Still, got a good insight into how bad some of the acting was etc as well as inability to learn lines.

I rented this and was looking forward to watching it, for me mainly it was due to the fact Richard Chamberlain and Rachel Ward were going to be acting in it ,the first time they had been in the same thing since 'The Thorn Birds', Oh dear the acting was dire, the set pieces weren't realistic at all, I can't believe I even made myself watch it to the end, my advice stay well clear, I mean the pirates even had a Hollywood white smile for God sake!! AVOID!!!
