Good watching

Very good well written series. Enjoyed it. The acting as you have come to expect from a British series is very well done with excellent characterization.- Was this review helpful to you?

(5)British TV at its best, not writing with numbers
By a customer , 15 Jan 2013Great writing, wonderful acting. It is very dark, and if you have a bad case of the blues, then you might want to wait until you feel more positive. Excellent portrayal of the realities of alcoholism without resorting to cliches.- Was this review helpful to you?

Brilliant Blackout.
By JoeZ87 (1 review) , 16 Oct 2012Brit drama at its finest. Excellent performances, notably from Christopher Eccleston and Rebecca Callard. Had me on the edge of my seat throughout.- Was this review helpful to you?

NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED
By Burnhamite (388 reviews) from BURNHAM , 14 Oct 2012One of the most compelling tales to come from the BBC in recent times. Involving the the hellish torment of alcoholism combined the squalid world of local politics this is not a movie for the faint hearted. Flashbacks make it difficult to grasp the story at times and perhaps it could have been shortened by about thirty minutes.- Was this review helpful to you?

Great Ensemble Cast, Good Performances
By a customer , 30 Sep 2012Good performances from everyone involved. I wasn't dissapointed. It felt like watching a rather good Television play with a great ensemble cast. I felt that it perhaps warranted a 4th episode in order to wrap up some threads that weren't resolved in episode 3 very effectively.
But that is a minor complaint. I have watched a lot worse stuff from the BBC.
If you have 3 hours spare, this could be good viewing.- Was this review helpful to you?
