Just as good as the first time!
By a customer from Huddersfield, England , 17 Mar 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
This was a wonderful miniseries with lots of twists and turns in it. There are people just bursting out in song and dance routines left right and center which could have been disasterous but actually worked really well due to the quality of the acting and storyline and good choice of appropriate songs. There is also a murder mystery/crime drama storyline which is intermingled with a touching family story about an ambitious arcade owner. Definetly well worth watching if you have'nt seen it and if you have then you don't need telling as you already know how good it is!!!- Was this review helpful to you?

(65)bran the man
By Brantheman (8 reviews) , 04 Feb 2012I bought the DVD after watching this excellent series. The play between the David Morrissey / Tennant characters had me rooting for both of them. Loved the light relief of the singalong dance routines and the eternal optimism of the storyline. Well, the series made me smile anyway !- Was this review helpful to you?

Disappointing
By a customer from Yorkshire, England , 05 Jul 2011After watching the Blackpool series was hoping for more of the same with this follow up, but found it disjointed, vague and switched it off half way through.
Would definitely reccommend the Blackpool series but don't bother with this, it just isn't in the same league.- Was this review helpful to you?

British Blackpool Gansters!
By roara (19 reviews) from Keighley , 19 Aug 2010A fanstastic series with quirky, cheeky characters that you will like from the beginning because you simply cannot help it! The comedy is brilliantly british and the actors make it humourous and enjoyable from start to finish. There should be more series like this. Not to be missed.- Was this review helpful to you?

Took a while but really liked it
By kungfumonkeyslayer (20 reviews) from Hove , 05 Aug 2010My wife chose this title, and to start with I thought oh my what has she ordered. But its quite good.
Its set in Blackpool (obviously) and centres around Ripleys (Morrissey) ambitions of developing his arcade into a las vegas style casino hotel. Things don't exactly go to plan and as it goes along you learn about each of the characters. It has some bizarre scenes starting in song, at first I found the songs out of place but as I got more into the story I started to find them quite amusing. The series definitely draws you in, I got to the point of needing to get the next disk to find out what happens next after the first disk.
Its definitely one I'd watch again.- Was this review helpful to you?
