Good Western
By GaryI (785 reviews) from March, Cambs , 09 Jun 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
Beautifully shot and elegic western continuing the Butch cassidy story. Sam Shepard is great as the aging outlaw trying to go home, but who ends up being hunted again.
This is a great little movie, well worth seeing and as a western lover this is a worthy addition to the genre.- Was this review helpful to you?

(9)Likable Follow Up to Classic
By 5ft7offootballheaven (300 reviews) from London , 13 Nov 2012I miss Westerns. They were such an important part of my early formative years. One of my all time favourites was Buth Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. I used to hum 'Raindrops keep falling on my head' - apparently.
This is a good what if follow up to the ending that left me in tears in the original. Good way to pass a few hours.- Was this review helpful to you?

Blackthorn, a gentle western.
By thecuckoo (107 reviews) , 11 Nov 2012Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was a lovely, memorable, gentle film.
This picks up 20 years after they were shot but only one grave was ever found.
The girlfriend and lover of them both in the first film has died she had a son but neither cowboy really knew for sure who the father was. The boy now almost 20 will be on his own.
So the surviving member of the duo sets out to return to the good old USA to help the boy in his hour of need.
This film is about the adventures and people he meets on his way back to the old country.
A gentle western lovely scenery with a good plot and some action to be had along the way.- Was this review helpful to you?

Sam is always watchable
By nutcase (53 reviews) from Windermere , 19 Jul 2012A gentle, quiet film that follows on the modern tradition of using the Western genre to mull over the meaning of life whilst wandering through beautiful scenery looking grizzled. Enjoyable.
The subtitles are spasmodic at best and even the opening text at the start of the film is poorly written...- Was this review helpful to you?

Quite likely the most boring film I've seen this year
By Wooster (310 reviews) from Tonbridge , 17 Jun 2012It's a shame the film stumbled along at dead-slow as the scenery and indeed the acting was good, but the story, what there was of it, was dull dull dull.- Was this review helpful to you?
