Scott signs on for new Blade Runner movie

Ridley Scott is set to revisit the sci-fi world of Blade Runner. The moviemaker directed Harrison Ford in the cult 1982 film and now Deadline.com reports he has signed on to direct and produce a new installment of the movie, based on Philip K. Dick's 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Ford played a retired detective hired to track down human-like androids in 2019. It is not known if the new film will be a remake, prequel or sequel. Read more

Sci-fi classic Blade Runner is heading back to the big screen in a major new movie deal which will see the film expanded into a franchise. Hannah to produce fossil fuel film

Eco warrior Daryl Hannah has given a first-time filmmaker a big boost by agreeing to produce his low budget documentary about the fossil fuel industry. The Blade Runner star will serve as executive producer on Craig Rosebraugh's Greedy Lying Basterds film, which he made for just £940,000. The recession has yet to hit the Hollywood memorabilia market - Harrison Ford's blaster gun from Blade Runner and an original Frankenstein movie poster have just sold at auction for more than £133,300 each. Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley is hoping to follow in the Footloose footsteps of his co-star Chace Crawford - he's eyeing his own Hollywood remake with Harrison Ford's Blade Runner.
