Starting to go around in circles

I have re-watched all of the Blakes 7 series on DVD recently and have to admit that they are starting to get a bit daft at this point. Avon has started to become a parody of himself, talking in soundbites and cliches. The very sexy Soolin does not appear to do anything at all. Servalan is wandering around a post war Federation hoping that no-one will recognise her even though she used to be Supreme Overlord or something.

Vila is the only one who is still entertaining. The episodes on this disk are fairly mixed, though only one of them is set in the standard deserted quarry. The one with the big robot without a head was plain daft, although the first one about obtaining a photonic drive is fairly entertaining and they finally fire their guns for once. The other episode about creating radiation-proof troopers is very similar to an episode in series one.

    A return to form

I was getting weary after season 3 (silly stories and daft costumes), but this is a really good season, that comes well up to the standard of Season 1 (and surpasses 2). It's far more enjoyable and has some really great adventures that even a casual viewer cannot help but be caught up in. I have to wonder what planet the people who diss series 4 are on?.. P.S. Glynis Barber is just great as Soolin.

    They just stopped trying

The quality of effects and acting worsened throughout this series. By the last episode you are relieved that it is over. The lame ending really closes the door on the whole universe. This is a series that was never destined for serious fandom. Get it for theclosure but don't let your hopes get too high.

    Hopeless!

I recently heard the 'Blake 7 the radio adventures'. Well the crew the better voice actors than real actors. The crew are hopeless and the sets are hopeless as well.

I do like Avon though! But he is overacting for all he's worth. To be honest I couldn't watach the end, too much tripe.
