Bleach - The Movie
By Chairmosher (36 reviews) from St. Neots , 18 Sep 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya becomes a fugitive accused of treason, as he fails to protect a Royal artifact. He abandons his position as a captain, whilst the Soul Society is hunting him down for execution.
Sounds like a pretty interesting way to start the plot and to fill 90 minutes of film time, but after the first few minutes, the film stalls to take painfully long time to get moving.
On a positive note, once the story finally begins to pick up some speed there are some well plotted and choreographed fight scenes, and good use of Soul Society characters. The story gets tighter and more interesting and it is the last third of the film that makes up for its previous sleepiness.
A film for Bleach fans, and especially for those who like Hitsugaya.- Was this review helpful to you?

(4)New Fan
By DocMcKelvie (3 reviews) , 04 Jan 2013As a new fan of the Bleach saga; having now watched both films within the last 2 months; I wasn't disappointed at all. This second outingof the saga took time to show that the characters aren't just superb warriors; but have feelings, flaws and even, at times, serious failings of faith i themselves and those who support them most. Sure the action wasn't all the time like most of us tend to like; but this was also about people and that made it worthwhile too. The central characters may not be from the 'land of the living'; but they are just as alive and imperfect as those they are sworn to protect.- Was this review helpful to you?

Well done if you know what's going on
By RJNeb2 (934 reviews) from London , 15 Sep 2012Second film in the Bleach manga franchise and incomprehensibility has set in with a vengeance. Coming across as (lesser) ninja X-Men, the Soul Reapers are after a stolen artefact that produces a lot of yellow light and much confusion. If youre a fan, youll probably enjoy this busy but artless cartoon; the rest of us will end up scratching our heads.- Was this review helpful to you?

Just for fans
By a customer , 04 Jul 2012As an 35 yo anime and manga fan I didn't like this movie. I haven't read any Bleach manga either. I can understand Bleach fans could like it but the movie doesn't give any insight on any of the characters, powers, stories behind. It just throws you in a story supposing you already know everything needed.
After that is just the usual everybody use their power to fight against a strong enemy.- Was this review helpful to you?
