      Bleak House remains bleak

Fine acting and impressive camera-work cannot lift the dark depression promised by the title. We couldn't face another seven episodes.

      Better

This is a far superior version overall. The new version had some excellent qualities but this is much better both in acting and visually stunning.

Much better camera work than the newer version, in fact much better altogether.
