The phrase "love is blind" takes on an entirely new significance in this ravishing documentary that mixes whimsical animation with the real experiences of four different blind men and women. Artfully composed and compassionately drawn, Juraj Lehotsky's distinctive debut feature is a touching, inventive and often very funny portrait of the way people live without sight. In his first documentary feature, Juraj Lehotsky examines the unique forms that love and happiness take when shared by the blind. Without the distraction of sight, emotional and spiritual connections are vividly heightened, provoking thoughts about what love means - or lacks - in the "sighted" world. Blind Loves sensitively delves into its subjects' innermost lives and finds a charming and witty visual language to express their unique and imaginative perceptions of the world.
