The alternative side of football

This game is certainly not for the feint of heart. While Madden might be perfect for people who like to strategize and choose optimum plays, Blitz is perfect for the rest who just want to see large men utterly destroy each other.
Expect coarse language, extremely unsporting behaviour, and wince-inducing injuries. Major tackles will involve a slow motion x-ray view that shows you bones splintering, tendons snapping and blood hemmoraging internally. A tackle to the head will rattle the brain in their head, collarbones will pierce lungs, and you can even aim for the crown jewels and watch them rupture.
All this leaves your players in a hell of a bad state, naturally, so you can perform a bunch of on-the-fly medical procedures to get them back in the game or go for a quick-fix of pumping them full of steroids. I haven't witnessed it myself but apparantly excessive injury without attempting to fix them up can result in your players being killed.
The career mode leaves a bit to be desired but multiplayer is really where this game shines. Grab a bunch of beers and some friends and witness one of the most violent sports games ever made.- Was this review helpful to you?

(8)Fantastic Game (Broken Disc)

I figure I would just let it go and play the game but after I got to the 2nd match in the 2nd season of campaign the game kept on freezing. Up until that point Blitz was just epic, it's for people who just want to enjoy a game of football. I wouldn't say it is for a hard core sports fan as it is fairly easy to begin with & has no difficulty curve.- Was this review helpful to you?

Blitz'ed me off
By KevB83 (43 reviews) from Holyhead, North Wales , 29 Apr 2009This game is a really good game as i didn't have a clue about anything to do with American Football but it really simplifies it to an enjoyable level.
Having said that i did get very very fustrated with it after the first division and my player wouldn't stop getting injured in the prison game (trust me i got to the near end of around 20 games) so it got thrown back in the post in a mood!
