Bad Script, awful CGI and even worse actingBy JukeUK (8 reviews) from Ilford , 02 Jul 2009
[Highly rated reviewer]This film is really not worth seeing. The main character, Saya, has the majority of her lines dubbed. The CGI blood looks like someone has smeared on red poster paint. The script is full a mistakes and generally doesn't make any sense. The acting is garbage except for the lead when she is acting in Japanese other than that it is pretty awful across the while cast. DO NOT WASTE A RENTAL ON THIS RUBBISH.

A good live action versionBy CarnageAce (94 reviews) , 15 Mar 2013A good live action version of Blood, nothing ground breaking, but the fighting you would expect done well. If you like blood you will find this ok, if you have never seen blood manga but like bloody fights you may like this.
Rubbery VillainsBy Otter379 (96 reviews) , 07 Mar 2013Blood is entertaining - a bit of a no brainer - but none the less enjoyable. I have the Manga version on DVD which holds the idea this movie is based on. The two films really aren't comparable. I don't think it's possible to transpose the imagery produced by top Japanese animators onto real time film. This movie version has some excellant martial-arts and some unique ideas. Unfortunately it's peppered with poor CGI and rubbery villains. However, leave your senses at the door and it will put a smile on your face.
makes me want to spill bloodBy Kusanagiguy (101 reviews) from London , 15 Jan 2013How can a 50 minute animated short outshine a live action movie so much? The only thing this film has going for it is the opening sequence which recreates the same scene from the animated short expertly and gave me high hopes for the rest of the feature. The extra star in my rating goes to the flashback to Saya's youth which was the most interesting thing here (I would have watched a whole movie set in this time period happily) Unfortunately they should have followed the animation more closely as not only are the events that transpire an incoherent mess (dreamworlds and the like) but the action scenes are lackluster and filled with some of the worst CGI ever to grace the silver screen. Another laughable aspect is the decision to round the cast out with British actors attempting to pull off American accents, ridiculous. I find it hard to know who this was made for, fans of the anime will hate it and those new to the universe wont find anything new (it will probably scare them off the anime as well)
Dodgy CGI Ahoy!By brambleweeds (6 reviews) , 25 Nov 2012This does not bode well! I can only hope that they do not bugger up Akira, like they have done with this, guyver & others!
Disappointing, stick with the anime version.
Good flick - Ignore the sloppy negative reviews..By Mhoti_Noorie (2 reviews) from West Yorks , 14 Oct 2012Pretty decent flick and definately worth watch if you are into Korean/Chinese/Japanese movies. Streaming was good, no glitches on my iPad and although the dialogue at time is much to be desired of it still all makes sense. Good Movie.
