Bad Script, awful CGI and even worse acting

This film is really not worth seeing. The main character, Saya, has the majority of her lines dubbed. The CGI blood looks like someone has smeared on red poster paint. The script is full a mistakes and generally doesn't make any sense. The acting is garbage except for the lead when she is acting in Japanese other than that it is pretty awful across the while cast. DO NOT WASTE A RENTAL ON THIS RUBBISH.

    AMAZING

I think this movie is utterly amazing. And I'll list why. Firstly is does justice to the original anime, and is beautifully recreted in live action down to the last detail. Also for a western movie this film has all the hallmarks of a asian film, the style of the scenes to the acting, the the very way the plot progresses. There is even a part of the movie subbed in japanese.

Also the blood is perfect, it does not look fully real, and that is a good thing. It allows you to take everything with a pinch of salt and enjoy the violence without the need for graphic gore, another style point.

For anyone saying this is rubbish, I would say, don't judge this till you've seen the original anime, and don't compare this to hollywood, because this is not hollywood, this is art.

    Utter Rubbish

This has a naff start, then it just gets worse and worse. The CGI is very poor and ridicolous. This should be listed as

    'Blood' The Crappiest Last Vampire!

Avoid at all costs, another waste of a credit, i just wish the reviews was more honest!

Waiting for a bus in the rain is more rewarding than watching this poo!

Not half as bad as people make it out to be

Most people listen/read a review and think ''well if they say a film is bad im not going to watch it'' .. if your a fan of any anime and it gets turned into a film, skip pass other peoples opinions and try it out. Which is exactly what you should do with this film. I thought it was going to be seriously lacking in everything. I loved the anime alot so I was expecting to be dissapointed. I wasnt.

This film was insane. If you've seen the anime you will be totally shocked (like i was) how the beginning was so similar to it, infact it was pretty damn near the same, which was awesome to me. Im tired of people re-making awesome animes/mangas and making a SHODDY film version (like dragonball-z which is a prime example). This stuck to the story line, didnt change the main charector into an american and stuck to the time line of the originial anime, true the acting wasnt the best but on their budget it was a really good watch. If people are a fan of the anime or asian cinema you will like this film. The scenes were awesome, true the effects werent amazing but believeable enough, the plot was pretty unpredictable and to be honest really interesting. I guess I may be biased because I thought it had done really well to the anime but I really enjoyed this film. The fight scenes were imense and the effects even tho they werent on par with CGI's from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon or House of Flying Daggers (as people usually use these films to grade most asian cinema CGI special effects martial art films) it still was pretty good. This film NEVER strayed from the original. That is so AMAZING in this day and age were every body takes something awesome, rips it to shreads and tries too hard to mold it into something they think the general public will be able to stomach. For the fact that it sticks so close to the anime it deserves a prize just for that.

The only bad thing I will say about the film is they should of been given a bigger budget to work with, some better CGI experts, better actors (tho I did enjoy Gianna Jun as Saya alot) and been able to keep the film going on a bit longer. All in all if your a fan of the anime. Watch this. You wont be as dissapointed as everyone is making out you will be.

felt like good old 80's horror fun meets crouching tiger

I was so suprised this gem took me back to 80's high school horrors with the suprising setting of this film being a high school on a military camp. The film is just fun and yes the gore looks cartoony but its meant to ! the ending is stylish and left open to interpritation loved it!

    Blood Lust

Having read reviews of this film which were less than favourable, I was pleasantly surprised by this remake of the Manga animated film. The style of the film taps into the feel of the original and remains faithful throughout. My only criticism is that the action at times occurs so swiftly under dim streetlights that it's hard to discern any real thrills. I also felt the climactic ending was too short, lacking in action and somewhat disappointing, to what could have been a very good cult film. This said, any Buffy or Blade fan will find enough Blood here, to enjoy.

    Brilliantly ridiculous

For a western adaptation of a Japanese anime this is surprisingly good. Having Asian actors play the Asian parts rather than some fifth generation American certainly helps. Violence a bit over the top but manages to hold itself back being too ludicrous and story, while it won't change anyone's life, is a perfectly entertaining way to pass some time. Pleasantly surprised.

    make up your own mind

This film has a poor ending... bad bit over with. If you liked the anime you'll like this. This is a live action anime so if you watch the film thinking this, it is worth a credit. Don't watch thinking it's a glossy Hollywood flick as you will be disapointed. I love vampires and fast paced sword fighting, so it pleased me. Also the blood is supposed to be a bit 'strange'. But on another note why at the end do two Japanese characters speak in English to each other?
