In his debut feature, Lonely Hearts Club, Taiwanese director Yee Chih-Yen focused on a woman who discovers that her heart's desire is gay. Can you remember sneaking into the park after lights out and breaking the rules? Can you remember sitting next to the person you first wanted to kiss and taking hours to make the first move? Can you remember how deep you fell for your first love? Sure you can! That is why this film will make you smile - it is a universal story and one well told - and all the richer for being set in modern Taiwan. The two principle actors are excellent and engaging. The backdrop is local townsville Taiwan (don't expect great cinematic wide shots). This film is young. This film is about growing up, finding friends you can trust and, of course, falling in love. There is a gay element to the film but there is nothing here to offend anyone. Really. Very simple. Very sweet. Very good. Rent it.
Beautiful movie & a very nice story
