Ah well it may not be the best film ever made and you may feel that it doesn't deserve the five stars I've given it so here goes with my explanation of why I like it.

Firstly Sean Pertwee looks gorgeous and plays his role superbly, with the understated charm and humor we expect of him, he's a highly underrated actor and should be much bigger than he is in my humble opinion! The chemistry between the leads is excellent and Ewan McGregor brings his usual verve and loveability to another slightly unsympathetic character. The film also reminds us that cornwall is the home of beautiful panoramas and some slightly weird locals and that surfing is for us all not just blond aussies.

All in all it's a sweet, funny, enjoyable film which is a great way to spend a sunday evening in.

  • A feel good movie

A great feel good movie if you accept it was filmed on a budget. See some household names before they made it to the big time. Some great roles with a semi predictable but good plot let down by one or two odd dialogues.

Don't take this out expecting a surf movie - it is more a BBC Sunday evening style movie than Point Break.

I found the second half more enjoyable.

An old school classic, great to see Ewan Mc G and Catherine Zeta in their early days.

    Great winter movie!

This is a top-notch movie, has a great story line and is just an all round easy watch.

Don't expect too much surfing but it is heavily themed throughout. Everyone I have introduced to this moving has found it a great watch and most have now brought copies.

If you like surfing, beach parties or are just feeling 30 (or older) then give this one a go.
