Lawrence stars as ex-con Miles Logan--a crafty jewel thief forced to hide his stash of diamonds at a construction site when his $20 million heist went awry. In this crime comedy, Martin Lawrence plays a thief who emerges from prison and is horrified to find that the construction site where he had hidden a stolen jewel is now a police station. Joining the boys in blue, his wrong side of the law approach to crime-solving yields some extraordinary results. Unlike so many action comedies, director Les Mayfield's film boasts an intricate and cleverly structured plot, though the tension is undermined by Lawrence's wild overacting. Highly reminiscent of Eddie Murphy's early (funny) movies, not to mention the 1965 British comedy The Big Job that starred Sid James, this may be unashamedly lowbrow entertainment, but it's great fun nonetheless.
A corny excuse for a comedy is given occasional life by the vigorous performance of its star, but even he cannot salvage such hand-me-down material.

I have watched this film over 30 times and still love it, you can not beat the comedy that Martin Lawrence offers or the fast moving action the film delivers.
One of the best movies around, it offers humour, action, effects and a good storyline which makes it a classic family film, if you don't get this you will regret it
Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys and Bad Boys II works brilliantly alongside Will Smith, playing off each other. In Blue Streak Martin Lawrence displays his skills and shows that he is worthy of top billing.
This film is excellent. Original storyline, bit far fetched but Martin Lawrence makes the movie. It's a bit like Starsky and Hutch in that it's very much a boys toys action movie, and the ending goes a bit awry, but it keeps you watching right to the end.

Please, dont rent this expecting a serious movie - It stars Martin Lawrence, so that should really say enough. If you keep your mind open and not expecting anything, you will enjoy the movie.
It's about Lawrence, a diamond thief, who is sent to prison after being nabbed by the police... 2 years later he is released and heads back to the building he hid the diamond in [at the time it was still being built]. When he got there, he discovered it was a new Police Precinct.
So what does he do? He becomes a cop thanks to some fake ID...After solving a few cases, it's time for the finale - delivering a truckload of drugs to the biggest drug lord in the Northern Hemisphere, while at the same time trying to get his precious diamond back.
Does he get it? Rent the DVD and find out :)
This film has got to be the funniest I have ever seen. Martin Lawrence fits this part really well.
It's just so funny, the things he gets up to, from trying to get into the police station by being a pizza delivery guy and from becoming a detective.
