A well-written, well-acted story that somehow manages to tell a story about a gay man who falls in love with a woman without playing into the old stereotype of a gay person just 'needing' one good relationship with someone of the opposite sex to 'cure' them.
Alan Davies and Lesley Sharp are both likeable and believable. None of the characters is one-dimensional. The story keeps your interest without resorting to soap-style melodrama.
I just wish there were more!
If you liked queer as folk you'll probably love this. I originally saw this when it was on ITV and then watched the dvd after ordering it from here, and I enjoyed it more than ever. Penelopy Wilton's character is just hysterical as Bobs mother, as well as Alan Davies and Lesley Sharp performing well.
This story is based on truth as Russell T Davies (who also wrote the new series of Dr Who) had a gay friend who fell in love with a woman and got married to her, he wrote the story to deal with his own, and others predjudice and to show that sexuallity isnt all black and white.
All in all a great little gem of a tv series.
