[Highly rated reviewer]Though essentially a fictionalised piece surrounding the hours up to the assassination of Robert F Kennedy, this is is a frustratingly bitty piece that, rather than making an important piece of modern history more interesting, is diluted by so many diverse stories, it loses your concentration and interest. You can see the intentions of the story were right, but it just never once takes off. One oddity that still springs to my mind - despite the USA having more heads of state assassinated than any other country in the world, at age 18 you can get a shotgun or rifle (not handgun) in the USA, but you can't drink until 21... Is this the wrong way round or is it me... let 'em get drunk at 18 - but not shoot anyone until they are over 21.. now that makes more sense.!
oh well.. rant over... back to the film, it is more or less like a US TV series and perhaps should have been, as a film it isn't too much, and not really worth 2 hours of your time to sit through.

Almost as good as 'The Kennedys'By a customer , 15 Nov 2011Very good film. Althought it centered around the hotel, it was very clever and great cast.
Can't remember it being on cinema.
If you like this film you must watch 'The Kennedy's!
Utterly Pointless!By Bandito (6 reviews) from Bromsgrove , 10 Nov 2011Pretty much nothing to do with Bobby the man, or his assassination. Instead creating a fictional story of the workers in the Ambassador Hotel. Other than splicing in the odd piece of original news footage you would be hard pushed to realise this film was anything to do with Bobby Kennedy. A complete waste of time!
bobby kennedyBy a customer , 07 Oct 2011I found this confusing to be honest because I thought it would be more about Bobby himself than other people at the ambassador hotel. It was passable but if you really like the Kennedy stuff then the recent TV dramatisation was much better indeed.
EMILIOS BEST WORKBy 2010thebaron (2 reviews) from Nottingham , 27 Sep 2011this is one good film. Robert kennedy had the potential to be a brilliant world leader interweaving the lives of ordinary people stories with a smattering of his most powerful speech/s really brings this out well done Emilio ps Sharon Stone stole the show
Bobby tried to conquer the hate with the good. Can we still try?By Onlylexus (119 reviews) from Chesterfield , 06 Sep 2011Left me feeling moved and deep in thought. Bobby Kennedy, like his brother, was just trying to do what was right for the world. But the haters and bigots always seem to get the upper hand, by destroying others dreams built on principle and peace, what the hell is wrong with this world? I liked the film, it weaved a path of numerous story lines with Bobby as the main background. However, why this film is called 'Bobby' I just don't know, since really most of the plot did not concern Bobby at all! The acting was superb and the film had a humanity that moved me to tears at times. The only thing that it left me with, although I enjoyed it, was a terrible sense of hopelessness for our world and society and the future. Why do some want to kill, destroy and hate, instead of working with the Bobby's of this world to bring freedom peace and an end to injustice? God, how I wish I knew, how I wish I had the power to make my brothers and sisters love each other. Peace to you all.
