    Bones is back!

We watched the first series on sky but missed the second series and decided to catch up. This is a typical american cop drama with a different story each week and some underpinning aspects relating to relationships and the lead character's missing father. What makes this series so great is the main character Tempe Brennan and Sealey Booth (Angel from Buffy star David Boreanez). The conflict between her logical anthropology and his FBI 'do what needs to be done attitude' make for comedic but often poignant scenes. The supporting cast are also excellent. Definitely worth a watch.

    Great TV chemistry!!!!

First of all let's look at the cast. All the cast except Emily Deschanel and David Boreanis have either stared or been part of one crime show at one time or another. I noticed TJ Thyne in an old episode of Cold Case the other day, Michaela conlin and Eric Millegan have been in Law & Order and CSI. Tamara Taylor has been in CSI. David, I suppose you can put down as one of those ego types that always has to be the hero. Until he got Angel he only made guest apearances in Buffy as her supporting role. Tamara Taylor makes a brief apearance in the Film Serenity, Emily Deschanel appears as a receptionist in Spiderman 2, and Michaela Conlin cameo's in Enchanted.

The brief history of the Actors over onto the series. So far I would call this the best so far. The mixture and texture of the story and comedic chemistry between Brennan and Booth in this series is the most electrifying so far. The really good part is the introduction of Stephen Fry as an FBI Psycologist in this series. He brings out the hidden seely Booth and also interogates the relationship between Brennan and Booth. Stephen fry brings also that bit of credibilty that is a bit lacking in the 3rd series without him. Although I have watched them on TV I like to watch the DVD sets because of the hidden extras and behind the scenes. These are all on disc 6 with the Gag reel, deleted scenes and SFX featurette. For a crime show this entertains an unusual amount of comedy without detracting from the original storyline.

I thought CSI was good until it reached the halfwaypoint of the 2nd series and the stories began getting too serious and too much into the personal lives of the CSI's. It is hard to take a TV sseries seriously when they do something a real CSI just wouldn't do. Anyway, Back to Bones and you have got it. Its a whodunnit type series that does not take itself serously and if the actors did they would all be mental cases by now. There are some serious points in it though. They are carried well and played in the best acting professional way. There are some tear jerkers and plenty of satirical traits that shakespear would have been proud of. The only difference being shakespear couldn't do a retake onstage.

This is the modern day moonlighting. The only problem with moonlighting was the characters got married in the series which ruined it.

This series is like how Forrest Gump's mother described life...... It's like a Box of chocolates.....You never know what your gonna get!

If they were giving out awards for the best Bones series this would win hands down.

    Disappointing after the first season

I really enjoyed the first season of this show; while some episodes weren't so good, overall the series had a good balance of interesting stories and character development and all the characters were interesting

In this season Bones has a new female boss and the predictable clash between her and Bones plays out tediously. They managed this kind of boss-scientist dynamic much better in the first season, keeping it light and not making a meal of it it, but in season two it's heavy handed. The new boss was even once involved with Sealy just to ramp up the rivalry. The worst part of all this is that the plot is now relegated to second place and so I found the episodes pretty boring; too much time was spent with arguments in the lab about how things should be done and less time doing them. Character development is fine, but the story should be the most important thing. It's a real shame, because this was a really good show.

    Bones - Season 2

Better then the first series, the characters are all developing well. The story's vary in content between relationships or murder but by the end I had seen enough dead bodies.

    Slick and easy

Very slick and easy to watch. Can never understand why this was not taken up by UK terrestrtal TV as it beats some home grown rubbish hands down.

Oh yes, the lady wife loves David Boreanaz - must be his intellectual appeal.
