In this Frank Oz film, washed-up director Bobby Bowfinger finds his dream movie script, but not the financing that will make the movie happen. Desperate, Bowfinger stalks and films famous action star Kit Ramsey reacting to his own oddball group of actors, making Kit the movie's hero without his knowledge. Kit, already paranoid, starts to lose it as strangers approach him to discuss alien invasions. But one problem remains: The dramatic conclusion to the film can be filmed only with Kit's assistance--or by pushing him entirely over the edge.

This bang-on-target satire of low-budget Hollywood film-making contains Steve Martin's best comic performance since Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. While The Player was a snarling, sharp-toothed beast, director Frank Oz's fun send-up of Tinseltown is a cute and cuddly companion piece.
Martin reminds us why he was once considered the funniest white man in America with this silly, savvy satire on... read more on Time Out
Great film with great script and acting especially by Kingsley. Not sure about the dream sequences though. Thoroughly recommended!
This film does have it's moments , a couple of times I found I laughed out loud (at Eddie Murphy), but it just didn't happen enough . I found myself thinking , when is the next laugh coming . Eddie Murphy is fantastic in this film , I had forgotten how funny this man is , im also a Steve Martin fan , but it's Eddie who gets all the laughs in this film . After reading all the 5 star reviews I was hoping for a classic , I don'r know how this film could be classed as that . Sorry
