An outrageously gory and excessively violent fable infused with the junk culture and trash aesthetic of cult director Frank Henenlotter's demented imagination. The Muppet Show meets The Tingler in this spaced-out gore joke about Elmer, the all-singing, all-dancing alien parasite, who injects a euphoric hallucinogenic fluid into his host, Rick Herbst, in return for donors it can suck brains from. The more Herbst gets addicted to Elmer's secretion, the more dangerous the risks he's prepared to take to satisfy his vicious pet's bloodlust. Quirky, inventive and completely offensive — some death scenes deliberately use pornographic imagery — this wickedly humorous slice of warped genius couldn't have come from anyone other than the perpetrator of Basket Case.

Ignore the review re: Peter Jackson!!!

This film is not directed by Peter Jackson, despite the only other review saying it is. That film was Braindead - nothing to do with this film. This is an okay film from the director of Basket Case.
