Misfit loner Edward Furlong sends off for the virtual reality game Brainscan, advertised as the ultimate in terror, only to wake up with memory loss and a severed foot in the refrigerator. Frank Langella is the cop on his trail. But will he believe the murder is really the work of the Trickster, a vile demon who represents the dark side of anybody playing the game? Despite some inferior special effects, this unusually bleak and intense chiller is one of the best horror films to use the virtual reality hook.
