A familiar cocktail of ancient curses and dusty bandages from B-movie veteran Jeffrey Obrow. When her father incurs the wrath of the reanimated Queen Tera, Margaret (Amy Locane) enlists the aid of retired tomb raider Louis Gossett Jr to return the Egyptian ruler to eternal rest. More a Hammer homage to Blood from the Mummy's Tomb than anything written by Bram Stoker in his Jewel of the Seven Stars tale, this blunt-edged chiller features the least believable Mummy make-up in horror history.
Please don't watch this alone. Not due to the tension of the content, but so that you will have someone to direct the question, 'Why?' at.
This was a dire movie. Every actor seemed to wonder what they were doing there and had just seen their lines. Misplaced emphasis, underplay, and overact all on display.. often from the same charactor.
I cannot imagine how it got its 18 cert, unless the panel thought that suicide rates would rise steeply among the audience. I kept expecting Lesley Neilson to appear at any time. It was quite some time before I could believe that this was a serious attempt and not a 'spoof'. Truly awful. Save yourself time. Don't watch this. If you need to feel the way this leaves you, go slam your finger in the door. Vintage Doctor Who fans may well enjoy its ambience. Please.. leave the lid on this one. Time is too precious to waste.
