Gritty, tough, stylish, complex, urban, slick, well made out of the ordinary cop drama. Did I mention it was gritty?- Was this review helpful to you?

(11)Some great characters!
By Placeyplacey (6 reviews) from Preston , 26 May 2013Edge of the seat stuff - really good characters with a complex plot. Some cheesy moments but on the whole very absorbing.- Was this review helpful to you?

Losing the plot but watchable for the action
By LikesFrenchFilms (46 reviews) , 24 Mar 2013Series 1 of this Sweeney style French crime squad was eagerly awaited by fans and the burgeoning BBC4 viewers of Spiral, The Killing and The Bridge. The double-crosses and out of control behaviour of Eddie's drug addled and corrupt unit has moved beyond the pale in the second series. The confusing and improbable turns leave holes big enough to drive une autobus through. But the acting is still superb. The feel is still very French.- Was this review helpful to you?

Darker than the lungs of a 40 a day smoker
By MrDancingGecko (6 reviews) from Cardiff , 21 Mar 2013[Highly rated reviewer]
This excellent French drama makes the terms dark and gritty seem lightweight in the extreme. A hard hitting and uncompromising depiction of a CID team, that forgets which side of the law they are supposed to be on. If your taste in Foreign cop dramas is Le Engrenages-aka Spiral- with a large spoon full of The Shield dolloped on top, this is exactly what you're looking for. Yes, the second season isn't quite as strong as the first, but even that's still light-years better than most British police procedurals. This is not for the squeamish or easily shocked.... (Martin77's suggestion that Braquo has been cancelled is incorrect. Series three is being filmed between February and June 213)- Was this review helpful to you?

A rubbish Season 2
By Martin77 (219 reviews) from PLYMOUTH , 22 Feb 2013What a difference between two seasons . The first Braquo season was just brilliant. Exciting , well-acted , great stories and very believable . The second season of this French crime drama is lame , half-heartedly acted and poorly directed . What a comedown and its no surprise to find out that the show has now been cancelled.- Was this review helpful to you?
