The super-quick sequel to Breakdance finds the same lead characters using their dance talents once more to save their rundown community centre. Just as Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney did in the 1930s, Adolfo Shabba-Doo Quinones and Michael Boogaloo Shrimp Chambers put on a show to raise cash and halt the urban developers who want to turn the centre into a shopping mall. A standard-issue follow-up with stereotypical humour undercutting its happy-go-lucky breeziness.
Not as good as the first one but still a classic that has a great story, strong acting and fabulous breakdancing scenes.
My family and I enjoyed it so much we spray-painted the side of the house.
If you like this film you should also get Beat Street and one of the breakdance tutorial dvds.
This was a much better storyline than the first film and Turbo dancing on the ceiling was fab. I definately enjoyed this film more. It was also nice watching it with my son, so he could see what kind of films I grew up on.
