What a Surprise!

It's funny how some films are timeless classics and others aren't (Bringing Down The House with Steve Martin?). This is a timeless classic. It is also a 'must-see' film.
From the outset, you are charmed by Holly Golightly's inherently stylish, mesmerizing, witty and complex character. A superficial call girl one minute and a vulnerable runaway the next. This film not only develops a modern-day role model in Holly Golightly, it also generates more than its fair share of laughs.
Breakfast At Tiffany's is over 40 years old and it is far ahead of its time. It's a great way to spend a few hours. Watch It!- Was this review helpful to you?

just average
By denis007 (141 reviews) , 11 May 2013The story was neither interesting nor did it keep me awake for very long. I was extremely disappointed by the whole thing. I gave a 3 star because my wife loved it! What seems to be a classic is not always one! Appearance and a nice photo to facilitate the rental of this dvd is all that there is to this movie! A classic that just is not one.- Was this review helpful to you?

A romantic comedy with a dark side!
By a customer , 13 Mar 2013A wonderful film-not at all the slushy romantic comedy I was expecting! Didn't feel at all dated just iconic. Several unexpected twists to the storyline kept it interesting. Beautifully acted by Audrey Hepburn with George Peppard playing a character that was true to its time. Wonderful, just wonderful! Totally understand why it's some people's favourite film!- Was this review helpful to you?

I've gone into hiding after this blasphemy!
By Bobsview (559 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 18 Feb 2013Yes I know this is one of the all time greats, a legend, a classic. But not for me Im afraid. It is far too dated, and false -like a stage farce to me. Characters are simply not believable but I know that is heresy and I will now probably disappear in the night!- Was this review helpful to you?

Captivating and delightful
By a customer , 16 Nov 2012Quite how I got to my 50s without seeing this I don't know. But better late than never.
It's a captivating witty tale - pretty daring and adult for it's time. Hepburn is of course stunning and enchanting, Peppard a revelation for this like me who know him for his later action roles.
Yes it's dated badly in places, particularly the `comedy' Japanese neighbour.
But don't let that spoil your enjoyment, there are too many good things here.- Was this review helpful to you?
