(48)A superb must see series
By JDLeeds (9 reviews) , 23 Apr 2013It's rare for a TV programme to come along that defies any form of pigeonholing. Breaking Bad manages to achieve it. Bryan Cranston as Walter White is possibly the best performance in many years. He presents what is on the surface an ordinary family man who spirals into a world of evil. As the series progresses we discover that there is more to Walter than we at first assumed. We discover he has a back story that we see in brief flashbacks and through conversations but we never fully discover the whole story. At the centre of the whole piece is Walter's relationships with his wife and his 'partner in crime' Jesse - played by Aaron Paul, He is totally believeable and as we watch Walter change we find that Jesse too is a complicated and sympathetic character. The relationship between Walter and Jesse may be at the centre of this series. However it has to be said that the whole cast is almost faultless. There isn't a single bad performance. Finally a word about the cinematography. The series is set in Alberquerque New Mexico landscape. Big skies and wide vistas make up a collection of scenes that are absolutely stunning and are one of the stars of this series. If you watch just two episodes you will want to see all 4 box sets. I know I did!- Was this review helpful to you?

The best thing I've EVER seen on TV!
By a customer , 13 Apr 2013This is the best thing I've EVER seen on TV (and I have watched quite a lot of TV over the years)! To be honest, after watching 2 or 3 episodes, I kind of wished I hadn't started watching it, as it isn't 'easy' viewing .... but it was too late and I was compelled to see every episode of every series. It's so refreshing to find characters as seemingly contradictory as real people are. We get to know the characters gradually and our feelings about them grow and evolve as they are revealed and as they respond to the situations they find themselves in. The filming is interesting, soundtrack perfect. After watching all seasons, ironically - I felt 'withdrawal'!- Was this review helpful to you?

Words like kooky and off-beat almost never raise my interest but this is the exception, weird characters yet very believable- Was this review helpful to you?

Absolutely Gripping!
By staffie (23 reviews) from Brighton , 02 Feb 2013I love this series; totally addicted to it, and can barely wait for the next disc to arrive. It has everything; great storyline, suspense, black humour. I watch each episode 3 times because I enjoy it so much. What am I going to do without it?- Was this review helpful to you?
