An understated gem

A subtle yet powerful film which tells its story as much through its dialogue as its cinematography. Not for thrill seekers, its masterstrokes are intimate but not for a moment sentimental. Also a spot-on portrayal of the Austrian psyche, beautifully portrayed by every single one of its actors.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not breathless, but perfection none the-less.
By a customer , 02 Apr 2013Nigh-on perfect. Understated, thought-provoking, emotionally resonant (for me at least). No cheap, nasty thrills, just a fantastically observed piece of life. Ignore the cretins who say it is too slow, 'not much happens' or can't be bothered with subtitles. So good that I did what I rarely do and actually bought the dvd.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not one to watch

Gripping film!
By a customer , 10 Feb 2013This was a very good film - well acted and an interesting storyline. This was the director's debut film, and the main character had no prior acting experience or training. Although this wasn't an action film and the storyline developed slowly, I found it gripping nevertheless - a unique film.- Was this review helpful to you?

Superb film.
