Never seen the French original, so have nothing to compare this with. But Ive seen this before on the telly, so was aware of the charms of Valerie Kaprisky! There is very little point to watching this film, apart from the anticipation of seeing her gorgeous body (and, I guess, that of Gere for the ladies). It seems like a predictable story of a bad guy meets sophisticated girl. There is little to explain how the initially sceptical Monica is won over by him. There is also little to the plot or script.- Was this review helpful to you?

I'm still breathing...
By chriswilks303 (19 reviews) from Chester , 08 Oct 2007I heard about this in relation to the Fantastic Four and its mention of the Silver Surfer.
The film is basically about a guy who goes through life stealing cars and money.
He shoots a police man by accident and tries to escape to Mexico... very slowly!
He goes to LA to convince a girl he shagged in Las Vegas to come with him (He fails to say he's on the run).
Given the fact that he's killed a man he show very little interest in escaping and there is no sense of urgency other than a few outbursts.
Richard Gere is such a tool in this film I was shouting for him to get shot at the end of the film which would have mad it a whole lot better.
He plays the guy who has such emotional problems he's verging on the schizophrenic and the girl he is after has only one saving grace that her boobs seem to fall out quite a lot.
Regarding the fantastic four he simply explains the story in several chunks .
If you want the fantastic four or the Silver Surfer just rent that instead
2 Stars at best, its dated badly and Richard Gere plays this up like a kid in year 1 acting school.- Was this review helpful to you?
