Director Walter Hill and comedy are always an uneasy combination, and this hackneyed, overlong tale glaringly proves the point. Add the manic, rolling-eyed Richard Pryor, a taste never really acquired by British audiences, and you have a major disappointment that fell flat even when it was made. This was the seventh time the story had been filmed — man left millions in will but first has to spend large amount in 30 days — which should have sounded a note of caution all round, but didn't. As usual, Pryor overacts wildly.

Pryor is great as usual
Great Fun! Brewster has to spend 30 million dollars in 30 days in order to inherit 300 million. The snag is he must not show any assets after the 30 day spending spree!

Pryor and Candy generate many laughs in this comedy about a man who stands to inherit a vast fortune with one: He must spend $30 million in thirty days and have no tangible assets at the end.
A great film, one that i have watched over and over. -

Richard Pryor and John Candy, brilliant! A has been baseball player inherits 300Million USD (or something like that) from a long lost relative, on the one condition - that he wastes 30million in one month - and has nothing to show for it whatsoever. He can't give it away, gamble it away, or anything like that.
A great movie, made me laugh my pants off, yet at the same time realise how hard it would be to do what he's asked to.
Rent it, its brilliant! -

Classic
Why don't films get made like this any more?
A real feel good movie watched with a bottle of wine after a Sunday lunch, life doesn't get any better than that. It's like a time machine.

Why don't films get made like this any more?

This is funny with John Candy at his best and Pryor when he is hired to help him spend loadsamoney with hilarious results.
A pretty feel good movie about how to spend money or how to get rid of it as quick as possible without making any profit whatsover!

CANDY AND PRYOR R BRILLIANT
I thought Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder made a great combination, but he works well with John Candy too. Well worth recommending.

I your a fan of 80's films then you'll love this. Well worth a watch

Good clean fun, if a little flat!!!
I enjoyed this, and laughed quite a bit. But it fell flat after half an hour!! Maybe should have been made into a 30 minute show on telly!!
Don't let that put you off, it is goof fun and funny, but just a bit drawn out...
