at last out on region 2 after years of enviously glancing at the region 1 copy here it finally is. for all hammer fans out there i urge you to rent this....................
The story line is poor but then i'm a sucker for the classics. Worth watching once
In this dracula movie his brides proved somewhat ineffectual probably due to absence of christopher lee, peter cushing points towards spectacular pursuits of van helsing in no uncertain terms.
Back in the day when they were still producing greats like 'Dracula' and 'Curse of Frankenstein', 'Brides of Dracula' is a superb continuation of the vampire series and doesn't even need Christopher Lee to succeed.
Like most of the earlier Hammer Horror pictures, this one is sumptuous with the kind of quality control that dross like 'Horror of Frankenstein' never achieves. Cushing is as wonderful as ever, turning in a nicely understated performance and the early scenes in the castle are notably disquieting.
