An introduction to the Lake District.
By a customer from Up North, England , 15 Feb 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
Quite dated, some of the locations i.e. Steamtown haven't been there for many years. A DVD not so much about the railways but about the Lake District in general.- Was this review helpful to you?

(2)A bit of a let down
By Martyn Cottrell from Weston-super-Mare , 04 Dec 2005A bit like the state of the railways today, it promises so much, but delivers very little.
The photography is what a film about the Lake District should be all about, with the commentary coming a distant second. Well the commentary does come a distant second, but the photography is also very lacklustre. It is all shot in 4:3 when it should have been at least 16:9. It's unimaginative and resembles one of those awful corporate training videos. To cap it all off, it's over exposed, giving a slightly washed out appearance that really should have been fixed before this was released.
It's still worth a look, but don't expect to be wowed by the visual spectacle that is the Lake District.
A missed opportunity.- Was this review helpful to you?
