What's so great about infidelity?

What a shame. Hollywood again feels the need to glorify infidelity. How's about...oh I don't know...you could make a thought-provoking movie that doesn't centre entirely around characters cheating on the people to whom they promised to be faithful for the rest of their lives?? Neither of the main characters made any attempt whatsoever to be faithful or do even remotely the right thing by their families. The film was actually fine (although kinda boring) until they both got married.

No, you can't help who you fall in love with (I should know, I've been in love with my best friend's husband since before they were even engaged), but you can help who you jump into bed with, and if you have just a shred of respect for any of the people involved, DON'T DO IT!

The only character with whom I could identify was Michelle Williams - Heath Ledgers poor, poor, hard working, long suffering and forgiving wife.

So I'm left wondering why the rave reviews? Beautiful scenery - yes. Great acting - yes. A sensitive approach to gay relationships - yes. Unfortunately, I tend to watch movies for storylines and likeable characters so this one was a big disappointment.
