Well, a district somewhere in Italy standing in for the Bronx anyway. The basic plot is thus, a vicious corporation tries to kill and starve the last remaining habitants of the Bronx in order to build their own high-rise developments. A lone long-haired hot-tempered warrior, Trash, is the only obstacle. Quite an achievement for a guy who looks like a roadie for Twisted Sister. This is a great slice of Italian 80's action though, thanks mainly to the direction of Enzo G. Castellari who uses lots of his trademark cool slow motion (nicked from Peckinpah, natch)during the numerous action set-pieces. Castellari was also responsible for the original Bronx Warriors, The New Barbarians and the war pic Inglorious B*stards (to be remade by Tarantino) as well as many others. If you ignore the ridiculous premise, outragous 80's fashions and bad acting there's much too enjoy here
set in the far distant future of 1987. Italian sci-fi like Italian horror films from the 80s are only loved people that saw them as a teenager.
A great film, that if you let it will take you back to the days of your youth when mad max was the coolest guy in the world.
