Brotherhood
By a customer from london , 20 Dec 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
This is a great programe took a while to get into it - but then watched 2 / 3 a night until I had finished it.
It like a sopranos story line except for two brothers one being a gangster the other working for the city.
Plenty of action and good story line
hope that a series 2 will be coming out.

(3)Brotherhood a cross between sopranos and the wire
By liversidge1964 (6 reviews) from york , 04 Jan 2011I had ordered the series and hated the bit of disc one I watched so much I sent back disc two without watching it.
After watching the 45mins I read a review of it on IMDb. It said it was like a cross between the Wire and Sopranos but darker. The reviewer thought this was good. I agree with his discription, like the Wire I couldn't get past the fact that the mumbling dialogue meant I only heard one word in three. This meant that what seemed like a complicated story to start with was impossible to follow. Then we got extreme violence - yes darker that the sopranos, I loved the Sopranos, it also had extreme violence but whilst that made me wince the fantastic acting, involving plots, clever scripting and overall quality of the programme meant that the violence was neccessary to ensure you never empathised too much with the characters. The violence in Brotherhood just felt gratuitous as I didn't really have a clue what was going on due to the poor script and awful delivery of the dialogue.- Was this review helpful to you?
