Most helpful review
A well crafted Danish film.

Besides one artfully shot bedroom scene, this isn't a gay film at all, and really doesn't deserve a minority label.
Reading some of the moaning ol' queeny reviews, if you want some rubbish soft-core erotic rubbish, to get your rocks off, this film probably isn't for you.
This is a serioius film exploring many different relationships, set against a background of Danish neo-Nazi thuggery.
Well acted, with high production values. This is a slow paced, intense drama, with the ultra-realism you to come to expect from the best of Danish cinema/television.
The lead actor Thure Lindhardt, for some reason not listed on this page, is one of the most critically acclaimed actors of his generation, and is outstanding in this film.- Was this review helpful to you?

Challenging film
By a customer , 13 May 2012I don't normally write reviews, but I felt I had to say something in response to the others on here, since this is an intelligent film that aims to say something serious about fascistic male bonding and the place of sexual contact within that. It's ultimately a romance between two loathsome individuals, and the violence in the film - far from being 'gratuitous' - is intended to underscore the contradiction. If you're looking to be reassured by positive images and banal feelgood plots, you won't like this. And for those who think that same-sex desire and fascism don't mix, the fact is it often has, so please wake up to the advance of the far right across Europe, and of prominent, even out, gay figures within it.- Was this review helpful to you?
