This is good, well made with good acting. A powerful film with an excellent story line.
So why didn't I like it?
Throughout the film you have the impression you are watching something that was born in a meeting room, with people developing the plot and the characters to conform with their vision of 'the truth' blended with 'what sells'.
No doubt the Directors and Producers had to present a (powerpoint) business case to gain the necessary funding to make the film. Therefore it is perhaps not surprising they included all the saleable elements and well proven characterisations that have been proved to go down well with audiences.
So, is it a powerful, insightful story of the physical and mental cost of war? Or Hollywood manipulation at its best!
