    [Highly rated reviewer]

Brum is a small car who has lots of adventures! If you have a child under 5 who likes cars, then they will probably love Brum. This DVD is a particularly good option if your child has already seen Brum on TV. It has LOTS of good episodes so even with the inevitable endless repition adults watching with their chilcren won't get too bored.

The only reservation I would have is that if you have a very young or a sensitive child then they can find some Brum stories a bit scary. Brum is always the 'good guy to the rescue' and some episodes have 'baddies'. My son, who doesn't watch much TV, used to find these quite scary and upsetting.

I personally place a high value on children's programmes that can entertain the parents too, and for this reason I can actually bear to watch back-to-back episodes of Brum. I'm not sure exactly what it is, because I do cringe at some of the performances (yes, I know it's aimed at pre-schoolers) but a lot of the set pieces can be entertaining and fabulously contrived. One of those programmes where you just know the production team had a whale of a time making it ... as long as the props worked properly!

  • It's Brum

My daughter loves Brum and she was delighted to receive this DVD in the post. It kept her more or less glued to the screen throughout, with the odd lapse in concentration.

If your young ones like Brum then I would recommend this DVD.

My only criticism is that the stories are very formulaic with little deviation from the main theme of Brum chasing miscreants, but then this is a childrens DVD and maybe doesn't deserve to be criticised for this as the kids seem to like it!!!

Wacky show that my daughter loves to watch. She is absolutely glued when it is on. Very slapstick, with many scenes adapted from Laurel and Hardy, Harold Lloyd type stuff. Cant understand how kids get it myself. Guess its the cute car. Very well produced and executed show for kids

  • No road tax!

On watching this title I noticed that the car brum didnt have any road tax and therefore is on the road illegally. If the car is exempt from road tax as it is over 25 years old would the producers kindly let us know. I will of course be writing to the DVLA to let them know. I otherwise enjoyed this tremendous feature.
