A California judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed against funnyman Sacha Baron Cohen over an alleged altercation, which occurred on the set of his hit film Bruno. In 2009, Richelle Olson launched a legal battle against Cohen, claiming she fell and hit her head while trying to kick the actor and his movie crew out of a charity bingo game in Lancaster, California. Olson initially allowed the group to roll cameras during the event she organises, but she changed her mind when the actor, who played... Read more

    Cohen case dropped

    • 20 Nov 2010

A cameraman has dropped his case against Sacha Baron Cohen over an alleged attack at a gay rights rally in 2008, because the legal wrangling has taken a toll on his "emotional well being." Photographer Mike Skiff filed suit against the funnyman last month (Oct10), claiming he was injured in a scuffle at a rally in Los Angeles while Cohen was shooting scenes for his 2009 comedy Bruno. He accused crewmembers of violently confronting him "with the threat of being clubbed with wooden signs" when... Read more

    Bruno lawsuit dismissed

    • 10 Aug 2010

Sacha Baron Cohen has chalked up another legal victory over his Bruno movie after a judge dismissed a lawsuit against the star. Baron Cohen can also be seen wearing an outfit made of the sticky fabric as his fashionista alter ego Bruno in the 2009 movie, but a judge has ruled the footage isn't similar enough to Himbos to proceed. The case... Read more

    • 26 Jun 2009

Movie bosses cut scenes of a confused Latoya Jackson from Sacha Baron Cohen's new comedy Bruno at the film's Los Angeles premiere on Thursday night (25Jun09) out of respect for her late brother. Jackson made an accidental cameo in the film after funnyman Cohen convinced her he was an Austrian fashion journalist, called Bruno, for a skit in his new film, but producers felt it would be bad taste to poke fun at her hours after her brother Michael died. It is not known if the scene will remain cut Read more

Hill and Roach added to Bruno lawsuit

    • 15 May 2010

Actor Jonah Hill and director Jay Roach have been dragged into an ongoing legal battle over Sacha Baron Cohen's Bruno movie. Palestinian grocer Ayman Abu Aita filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the British funnyman last year (09) after a caption in the controversial film described him as "Terrorist group leader, Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade." Abu Aita alleged he was defamed when he was named as a mock-terrorist in the movie - as many viewers didn't get the joke. He included David... Read more
