The man who inspired The Horse Whisperer, this documentary is a personal and fascinating story, and you don?t have to be ?horsey? to enjoy it.

I saw this in the USA recently (August 2011) and want to see it again. This is a brilliant film about someone who knows how to train horses and who has overcome early adversities with grace. Rent it!

What an amazing man. Such an affinity with the animals and control through sensitivity and empathy. Beautiful to watch and touching without being morbid or cras. Well recommended.

This seemed rather harsh in its methods as compared with how Monty Roberts in Britain trains horses. It was fascinating to watch even so.

This is an excellent documentary showing that the past need not dictate the future. As a young child Buck was starved of affection and love, yet this moving portrait of his life as a 'horse whisperer' is a testimony to the humanity and love that he has managed to release in spite of that start in life. The humanity that Buck connects with when he is interacting with his equine companions is very touching, this is a very original and captivating film, and stirs emotions you might not have expected when you first clicked play. Highly recommended.

I really liked this movie. It is an entertaining and thoughtful study about horses, human nature and life. Buck has overcome so many bad experiences and yet has managed to engage and teach with great empathy those who attend his clinic sessions and know about horses, lessons in good training, raising the young. As someone who knows nothing about horses, I was very moved by this film.
